How your beliefs dictate your confidence
I have been many things in my life.
An inspiring speaker
A top sales performer
A stupid little girl
A wonderful mother
A shouty parent
A great listener
A stubborn contrarian
A legendary dancer (self-proclaimed)
A naughty child
A wild party girl
A peaceful teetotaler
And apparently (as a kind gentleman once described how I was parking)
"A complete and utter tw*t"
Thanks, mate.
But all that is not really who I am.
These are just words and labels, given to me by myself and others.
Stories that I have come to believe about myself, that I have reinforced over the years.
You see, our ego has the drive to be right.
If you believe you are a confident speaker, your ego will try to protect that status, and find ways to prove that it is right.
The same happens on the other side.
If you believe deep down that you are 'not enough' or 'a failure', your ego will also try to protect that status, and find ways to prove that it is right. Even at the detriment of your confidence, happiness and success.
So on this beautiful Monday morning, spend a second checking in with your deepest beliefs.
Who do you believe you are?
If you believe you are worth it, you are.
If you believe you are happy, you are.
If you believe you are confident, you are.
Feel it. Let it shine out. And others will feel it as well.
Have a wonderful week ahead!
